Very Important Information to Foreign Nationals Leaving Japan with a Re-entry Permit or a Special Re-entry Permit
Foreign nationals who submitted an address change report to their local city office and left Japan with a re-entry permit may claim the Lump-Sum Withdrawal Payment.
Point 1 Those who did not submit an address change report may as a rule not claim the Lump-Sum Withdrawal Payment during the time in which they are allowed to re-enter Japan.
Those leaving Japan with a re-entry permit who are to change their address to a location abroad must submit an address change report to their local city office. Those who submitted an address change report to their local city office and left Japan with a re-entry permit may claim the Lump-Sum Withdrawal Payment.
Point 2 Those who are to move to an address abroad for an unavoidable reason and who submitted a report of loss of qualifications for National Pension to their local city office may claim the Lump-Sum Withdrawal Payment.
Those who left Japan with a re-entry permit and who are to move to an address abroad for an unavoidable reason must submit a report of loss of qualifications for National Pension to their local city office. It is only after they submitted such a report that they can claim the Lump-Sum Withdrawal Payment during the valid period of their re-entry permit (the special re-entry permit period). The period during which they can claim the Lump-Sum Withdrawal Payment is two years after the date they lose their qualifications as insured under National Pension.
